Itinerary

Day 0

Arrival at OR Tambo International Airport

We meet our clients at OR Tambo International Airport, where we will accompany our clients to the hotel that they have booked on own cost. Transportation is available at no cost. This will give our clients time to rest out before our adventure begins the following day. 

We recommend the Peermont Metcort Hotel or Emerald Guesthouse near OR Tambo International for the first night of Accommodation on your own leisure. 

Day 1

Thabana safari game lodge

After our clients have enjoyed their breakfast at the hotel we will then leave the concrete jungle of Johannesburg and make our way via Swartruggens to Zeerust where we will stop en route for Lunch. From here we will continue to the border between South Africa and Botswana and make our way to Thabana Safari Lodge.

Upon arrival, we will prepare for your first sunset game drive in an open-game vehicle. After this we will enjoy dinner at the restaurant included as well as breakfast the following morning.

Day 2

Kalahari Desert

After breakfast, we leave from Thabana on the Trans Kalahari Highway to the Kalahari Rest Camp. We will travel just over 500 km before the day is over and stop en route for lunch (at your own expense) in Jwaneng, a small town run by the De Beers Mining company. While traveling, keep your eyes open for a variety of wild animals like zebra, eland, and antelope. The open fields covered with hardy shrubs and camel thorn trees may give some people the feeling of being lost as the wide open spaces seem to carry on forever! At about 16h00 we will arrive at camp, where you can then relax at the swimming pool or take an optional game drive. - Breakfast & Dinner Included

Day 3

Central Kalahari

Start the day with breakfast at the camp before departing for our next destination. We will travel along the Trans Kalahari Highway for 332 km to the Ghanzi district, where we will enjoy lunch en-route at own expense before we book in at our Lodge. After settled in at our Lodge we will visit the Bushman and learn about their culture and lifestyle and then have time to enjoy the lodge itself on own leisure at the pool or enjoy the scenery. Dinner will be enjoyed under African sky included to package. 

Day 4

Maun Botswana

After breakfast we must leave our Bushman friends behind for Maun. After 4 hours we will arrive at our lodge, which is located a few kilometers from  Maun International Airport. Eat lunch and then spend the afternoon preparing for our two-day trip into the Okavango Delta. Be advised that we will be camping in dome tents in the Delta on one of the islands for one night. All your equipment will be provided

Day 5

Okovango Delta

Today we're leaving just after breakfast for the Okovango Delta, which is famous for its traditional dug-out canoes (mokoro). These mokoro trips have, over the years, become a very popular way for travellers to take in the tranquility of the Okavango Delta. To get a real insight into the lives of the people of the Okavango, the mokoro-small trips experience is a must do. This is an excellent way to slip quietly into and become part of everyday life in this watery wonderland. This community traditionally uses this part of the delta for fishing, reed cutting and the harvesting of water lily bulbs. We explore the island by taking a short hike in the afternoon. After supper, we retreat to our tents and experience the night sounds of the Okovango.  - All Meals Included

Day 6

Maun Botswana

Begin our day with a relaxing hike on the island and then have breakfast before we make our way back to the mainland in our mokoros. Before lunch we drive to the town of Maun, where we explore the settlement, visit some museums or take a flight over the delta (optional).Then return to our lodge for supper. - All Meals Included

 

Day 7

Elephant Sands Game Reserve

Continue our trip, leaving  Maun just after breakfast and make our way to Nata. Travelling 5 hours to central Botswana, stopping en-route for lunch (cost not included). Our night accommodation is in the northeastern part of Botswana. Here we will enjoy viewing elephants at a natural waterhole right in front of the lodge. Watch these impressive creatures whilst they frolic only a couple of meters away from you, a completely unique experience! There are plenty of other wildlife around on this unfenced 16,000ha of private conservancy. Optional available Game drive. - Breakfast & Dinner Included

Day 8

Chobe National Park

Our journey takes us to the Chobe National Park which sits on the banks of the Chobe River in Botswana. This is one of the best destinations for serious game viewers and photographers. This is the place where the borders of the four African countries meet: Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia. A spectacular sunset boat cruse will be enjoyed along the Chobe river. -All meals included.

 

Day 9

Victoria Falls

As the day breaks with the call of the fish-eagle, we will leave on a morning game drive in an open vehicle into Chobe National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the Puku, a very rare African antelope that is found mainly in the Chobe. Upon our return we enjoy brunch before heading out on the 1 hour journey to the Kazungula border and into Zimbabwe. Admiring and visiting the breathtaking Victoria Falls in the mighty Zambezi River as it crashes down approximately 100 m. After this wet and exhilarating experience, we visit the nearby town to book our optional activities for the next day (cost not included). - All Meals Included

Day 10

Victoria Falls

Today our clients can spent the day at their own leisure at Victoria Falls. Well named as the adventure capital of Africa, Victoria Falls has a buzz of its own with a huge variety of tours and activities. On land, in the air or on the river - the choice of activities is yours! Tours range from day trips into neighboring countries as well as historical, cultural and scenic activities. You may go bungee jumping or white water rafting – just two of many adrenaline packed activities. Walk a lion, take the tram, ride an elephant, do some retail therapy at the outdoor curio market or soar over the Falls! - Breakfast & Dinner

Day 11

Nata Botswana

Leaving Victoria Falls just after breakfast for the Nata Lodge, which is 5 hour drive away. Nata Lodge is an oasis set among the Mokolwane (Malala) palms on the edge of the Makgadikagidi pans. It is ideally located close to the entrance of the Nata Sanctuary. This area incorporates a multitude of salt pans and vast grass plains dotted by palm islands and forms the Great Makgadikagidi, which features the largest salt pan area in the world, covering some 37, 000 sq km. It is the last vestige of Africa’s largest inland sea and exudes an atmosphere of antiquity and mystery.

Day 12

Bushveld

After breakfast at Nata we will start our return trip to South Africa. Our next stop will be Palapye, where we have lunch (own expense) before we continuing on our 4 hour drive to South Africa. We will overnight for the last time on the epic tour just beyond the border. If time allows, a last sun-downer game drive can be enjoyed by the view of the big baobab tree.

Day 13

Johannesburg

After breakfast, continuing to Modimolle(Nylsroom) where we enjoy Lunch and then make our way to Johannesburg International Airport or your lodge (Own cost) were we say our final goodbyes.
